Remember the olde days when it would have been a surprise?!?

Gibson to do ‘Hangover 2’ cameo?
Mel Gibson is reportedly set to bounce back from his recent personal problems with a high-profile cameo role in The Hangover sequel.
The Braveheart star has endured a tough year which saw him split from his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his young daughter Lucia, and the nasty break-up played out in public.
Grigorieva fanned the flames of the former couple’s custody battle by accusing Gibson of beating her in a violent altercation in January, while tape recordings of their bitter arguments hit headlines across the world.
Gibson now looks set to make light of his troubles with a big screen comeback in the highly-anticipated follow-up to the hit 2009 movie, which sees the action transferred from Las Vegas to Thailand.
A source tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, “It’s a done deal. Mel will make a cameo as a tattoo artist. Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, where a Bangkok set has been built, and Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October.”
The news comes just days after cast member Sasha Barrese teased fans about an “unbelievable” surprise guest, which prompted speculation shamed golfer Tiger Woods would be making an appearance in the film.
He said, “It’s the best cameo you’ve ever seen in your entire life. It’s a guy. That’s all I’m going to say. It’s the best.”
The first film, starring Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms, featured a famous cameo slot from boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Pink Floyd could reunite ‘for charity’
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has said he wants the band to reunite to play charity gigs.
Speaking at Manchester’s In The City event on Friday, Mason added that he thinks bandmates Roger Waters and David Gilmour are also supportive of the idea.
“I think it would be a very nice way for a band to gently move towards retirement, by doing shows absolutely for charity rather than for more income,” he told BBC News.
“In a way the best thing would be to do a number of shows and have some sort of foundation.”
The band played together at Live 8 in 2005 along with keyboardist Richard Wright, who died in 2008, and Mason said that he believes all of the remaining members “would like the idea of repeating the Live 8 concept”. He added that he thinks all three currently “see eye to eye” on the issue.
In July, Waters and Gilmour performed together at two charity events, with the former admitting that the performances were “fucking great”.

Why?!?!?

‘Ghostbusters’ script wrapping up
The script for the Ghostbusters sequel is almost complete, according to star and screenwriter Dan Aykroyd – who is adamant the film will be a success.
All four of the original Ghostbusters – Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson – were said to have signed up to star in a third film, 21 years after the second installment hit cinemas in 1989.
Murray previously dismissed the speculation, insisting plans for a follow-up are “hogwash”.
But now Aykroyd has spoken out to insist the script is near completion – and he’s convinced even Murray will be pleased with it.
He tells Britain’s Daily Express, “I think Bill was concerned that the writing on Ghostbusters 3 would not be up to standard but I’m working on the script now and Bill has the comic role of a lifetime.”
But Aykroyd concedes this could be the last film in the franchise for the original line-up: “My character’s eyesight is shot, I’ve got a bad knee, a bad hip – I can’t lift the Psychotron Accelerator any more. We need young legs, new minds, new Ghostbusters”.

Why, Mike?!?! Why?!?!?

Mike Myers to Voice PepÈ Le Pew In New Movie
Heís French, heís in love and he stinks. Of course, weíre talking about PepÈ Le Pew, the famously accented Looney Tunes skunk who strolls around Paris looking for beautiful women. Well, it seems that everyoneís favorite lovelorn skunk is going to be coming to the big screen and that heíll be voiced not by the late Mel Blanc, but instead by none other than the current man of a thousand voices, Mike Myers. Warner Brothers is developing a film based on PepÈ where he and the girl of his dreams, Penelope Pussycat, would be CG characters and everyone else would be real. Hit the jump for more on this turn of events and to see a video of what PepÈ Le Pew means in todayís popular culture.
Vulture broke the story of Myersí involvement in this project and said that ìthe decision to reinvigorate the Looney Tunes cast of characters ó which includes fading American icons like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig ó is a high priority for Warner BrothersÖ.î Does that mean weíre going to get big screen films starring all of the Looney Tunes? Anything is possible, they are shooting a movie based on Battleship after all. Warner Brothers is losing the Harry Potter franchise next year and while they have more Batman and Superman films on the horizon, theyíve been looking at all their properties to find sustainable franchises to fill Potterís billion dollar hole.. Thatís why weíre getting Green Lantern next year and why other DC characters could be coming in a few years.

Party on, dudes!!!

Keanu Reeves Is ‘Trying’ To Make ‘Bill And Ted’ Sequel
It was on the glittering red carpet at the Oscars in March that Keanu Reeves tossed MTV News a most excellent bit of semi-news about a potential new “Bill and Ted” sequel. “I’m trying, I’m trying,” he said.
Was he serious? Just joking in the midst of the overly serious awards season circus? No one was really sure. So when MTV got a chance to chat with Reeves again ó this time at the Toronto Film Festival, where he was promoting “Henry’s Crime” ó they probed further. Is a third “Bill and Ted” flick really in the works? Might Reeves reunite with co-star Alex Winter and writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon?
Perhaps. And Reeves is positively giddy about the possibility that it actually could happen.
“We’re trying. Alex and I are still friends and we’re talking, and we’re talking to Chris and Ed,” Reeves said. “They’re going to try and see if they can write something. To me, I’d love to play the role. I’d love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again.”
“We’ll see what they do. If it’s a film that can stand up on its own … and I’m meeting people now, they’ve shown the film to their kids,” he added. “We just seek to entertain, and if that could be something that could be worthwhile, on its own …”
Whether or not Matheson and Solomon hit on an idea that is worthwhile, of course, is only the first of many questions surrounding the chance that another “Bill and Ted” becomes a reality. But it’s worth noting, as well, how darn enthusiastic Reeves is about the project.
During the chat it seems he popped off joke after joke about “Bill and Ted,” mixing his humor with genuine hope (“That would be amazing!” he declared at one point). He veered from one wacky pitch to the next ó everything from a 3-D black-and-white sequel to a multi-director feature involving Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and Werner Herzog. Will a third “Bill and Ted” happen? Who knows? But it sure is fun to hear Reeves launch into an impression of Herzog describing the project.
“I was just pushed by the idea of this innocence being confronted by the nihilism of the world,” he joked. “And I thought that these two clowns could push our perspective of reality and truth to the forefront of meaning and knowledge.”

Could this work?!?

Joe Pesci And Al Pacino In Talks To Join Robert DeNiro In Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman?
It has been fifteen years since Martin Scorsese made a movie with Robert DeNiro. The two men, as an actor director pair, helped build each other’s careers from Mean Streets through Casino, establishing both as two of the greatest film legends of all time. Back in 2008, a report came out that the two were finally working together again on a project called I Heard You Paint Houses, the story of mobster Frank ìThe Irishmanî Sheeran, based on the book by Charles Brandt. Now, not only does it look as though the project is getting a second wind, but two of the great gangster genre actors are coming aboard as well.
Deadline reports that Al Pacino and Joe Pesci are currently in negotiations to join the project, now titled The Irishman. Based on a script by Steve Zaillian (Schindler’s List, Gangs of New York, American Gangster), Sheeran was a close friend of Brandt and confined in him with all of his secrets, including the 25 men he killed as a hitman and that he was the man who killed famed labor union leader Jimmy Hoffa.
As exciting as the prospect of this film is with the cast and director involved, I’m sure I see the purpose of glorifying a mass murderer like Sheeran (anyone seeing double after my Mickey Rourke post this morning?). Scorsese, of course, has made a career out of brilliant movies about mobsters, so I can’t imagine this is going to be any kind of schlocky bullshit. Scorsese is currently filming Hugo Cabret, so this project still hasn’t moved beyond the “in development” stage. If they can secure Pesci and Pacino, however, there’s no excuse for Scorsese to not make it a priority.

I am rooting for Mary Elizabeth Winstead!!

Starlets try out for ‘Spider-Man’
LOS ANGELES – Young actresses are lining up to play the love interest in the upcoming reboot of the “Spider-Man” franchise.
Starting Thursday and heading into the weekend, select actresses are meeting with director Marc Webb and new Spidey actor Andrew Garfield.
In a departure from the Tobey Maguire-Kirsten Dunst movies, the female lead is not Mary Jane. What isn’t clear is whether the actresses are auditioning to play Gwen Stacy, Parker’s other object of affection in the comics (played by Bryce Dallas Howard in 2007’s “Spider-Man 3”) or some other new character. The script pages being given to the actresses have no name listed for the character.
If necessary, another round of meetings may occur next weekend.
There are others in contention, but the following three British actresses are in the mix:
– Imogen Poots, who is currently shooting the “Fright Night” remake;
– Ophelia Lovibond, who appeared in “Nowhere Boy” and “4.3.2.1” and recently wrapped “London Boulevard” for William Monahan;
– Lily Collins (and daughter of Phil), who appeared in “The Blind Side” last year and will be seen in “Priest.”
Others whose names have cropped up are:
– Teresa Palmer, who was the romantic lead in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” She read with Garfield last weekend;
– Emma Roberts, who has twice flown from the set of “Scream 4” for readings;
– Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the love interest in “Scott Pilgrim vs the World.” She was in the arachnid web but sources say she has now fallen out.
These are not screen tests, which usually involve some sort of dealmaking, but rather readings and meetings. Basically, it’s still early. And if none of these girls work out, don’t rule out another round of searching.
Like Garfield, many of the contenders on the female side are up-and-comers, fitting in with the lower-key, edgier movie Webb is trying to make. The story is more grounded in the high school setting than the previous Sam Raimi-directed trilogy. The production is looking to go before cameras in December.
Columbia had no comment.

…Steven Tyler says he’ll be an ‘Idol’ judge
NEW YORK ñ A source close to Steven Tyler says the Aerosmith frontman told the source he will be a judge on Fox’s “American Idol” next season.
While an official announcement about Tyler has yet to come from Fox and the producers of the top-rated show, the source told The Associated Press on Wednesday, “there is no reason to refute” Tyler’s account. The source spoke only on the condition of anonymity because the source was not authorized to comment publicly on the matter.
Fox and producers FreemantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment had no comment on the report.
The “Idol” judging panel has been in flux with the departure of mainstay Simon Cowell, as well as Ellen DeGeneres’ recent announcement that she would not return for a second season.

They would all be wrong for the part…yes even Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson!!

Watson chops hair for ‘Tattoo’ role?
Harry Potter star Emma Watson may have cut off all her hair for a new role.
OK! Magazine is reporting Watson went with the new pixie-style crop in the hopes of snagging the role of Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
“Cut my hair off a few days ago … Feels incredible. I love it. I’ve wanted to do this for years and years; it’s the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like,” Watson said on her Facebook page, posting a photo for fans on Aug. 5.
But on Tuesday, the magazine quoted a source that says she cut her hair for an audition with the movie’s director, David Fincher. The unnamed source says Watson “cut her hair to look the part. The character of Lisbeth is a misfit with spikey hair.”
If Watson is auditioning for the role, it would be a drastic change from her role in the Harry Potter files. Instead of being an innocent teen learning magic, she would play a troubled 24-year-old woman with Asperger’s syndrome who is an expert computer hacker. It would also mean Watson would need to take part in sex scenes.
The book, written by the late Stieg Larsson, has already been turned into a movie, but Fincher is set to direct the full trilogy of the novels. The male lead of Mikael Blomkvist will be played by Daniel Craig.
Also rumoured to be up for the role of Salander are Carey Mulligan, Canada’s Ellen Page, Kristen Stewart, Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.

DiCaprio battles for Riddler role
Inception co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy are reportedly battling it out to land the role of The Riddler in the upcoming Batman movie.
Speculation has been rife about which actors will join Christoper Nolan’s third superhero film ever since The Dark Knight hit cinemas in 2008.
Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie, Cher and Kate Beckinsale have all been linked to the possible revival of feline femme fatale Catwoman, while Shia LaBeouf, Johnny Depp and Eddie Murphy are also rumoured to be attached to the picture.
And the latest names to be associated with the blockbuster are the stars of box office hit Inception.
DiCaprio, Gordon-Levitt and Hardy all star in Nolan’s mind-bending thriller and, according to film website Comic Book Movies, the producer is in talks with all three to play the new version of the fiendish puzzler, who was portrayed by Jim Carrey in 1995’s Batman Forever.
