Guns N’ Roses’ original line-up to reunite for Super Bowl?
Talks about playing next yearís Super Bowl half time show with their original line-up are apparently underway.
Singer Axl Rose refuted speculation this week (February 8) that he would agree to any kind of reunion with his former bandmates. But despite this US sports website Kentsterling.com claims that a source has given information that talks are ongoing.
According to the report, ìPreliminary talks have already taken place to reconvene the most popular line up of ” for the event next year.
However, the site acknowledges that discussions are in “very early stages” and that it “may turn into nothing”.
If the reunion were to happen it would be the first time the line-up that recorded the bandís acclaimed 1987 debut album ‘Appetite For Destruction’ had played live together since 1990, the year drummer Steven Adler was sacked.
Guitarist Slash recently said he’d be up for talking to Rose about a reunion ñ but only if the singer apologised to him. The pair are not thought to have spoken since Slash left the band in 1996.
The Black Eyed Peas played the Super Bowl half-time show this year.

Lollapalooza headliners to include Eminem, Muse, Foo Fighters
Eminem, Muse and Foo Fighters will be among the headliners for Lollapalooza when it returns Aug. 5-7 to Grant Park.
Reliable industry sources confirmed the bookings Tuesday. Lollapalooza promoters C3 Presents had no comment, but the Eminem booking is a coup. The hip-hop artist is expected to win his first album-of-the-year prize at next Sundayís Grammy Awards for his latest album, ìRecovery,î the best-selling album of 2010.
The Foo Fighters ó fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl ó are returning with their seventh studio album in April, the bandís first set of new material in nearly four years. Muse will be playing a few festival shows while readying its next album this summer; the U.K. band scored its first major U.S. hit with its 2009 release, ìThe Resistance.î
Also expected to play Lollapalooza, according to several industry sources: Best Coast, Girl Talk, Crystal Castles and Lykke Li. At least three more headliners will join Eminem, Muse and Foo Fighters.
The complete Lollapalooza lineup is expected to be officially released in April.

Cobie Smulders Closes In On ‘Avengers’
How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders has emerged as the front runner for the role of SHIELD Agent Maria Hill in the Joss Whedon-directed The Avengers.
The role has been the subject of high speculation since Samuel L. Jackson gave it up in an interview with Jimmy Fallon that he would be reading as Nick Fury alongside five actresses vying for an unidentified female sidekick role. That audition happened yesterday. Reports had V’s Morena Baccarin, Jessica Lucas and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as other candidates. Smulders wasn’t completely unknown to Whedon. In fact, he liked her as a candidate for Wonder Woman when he was working on that superhero film. Deadline has learned that the role is Maria Hill, who in the comics was the ruthless interim executive director of SHIELD, who was not above blackmailing and bullying superheros to get her way. She was eventually supplanted in that top job by Tony Stark aka Iron Man. As with all Marvel movies, the deal comes with a pile of options for appearances in future superhero films. She’s repped by UTA and Roar. Marvel Studios starts production in April, which presumably falls into Smulders’ TV hiatus on the CBS sitcom.
The Avengers will be released by Disney May 4, 2012, and it shapes up as the equivalent of a superhero All Star game written and directed by a filmmaker beloved by the geek crowd. Robert Downey Jr brings his Iron Man character, Jeremy Renner is Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson is Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth is Thor, Mark Ruffalo is Bruce Banner/The Hulk, and Chris Evans is Captain America. Tom Hiddleston is Loki and Clark Gregg reprises the role of SHIELD agent Phil Coulson that he played in the last Iron Man.

Interesting…

ABBA reunion talk heats up
News suggesting ABBA star Agnetha Faltskog is keen to reunite with her Mamma Mia bandmates for a series of special concerts have sent Britain’s bookmakers into a frenzy.
Oddsmakers at William Hill are accepting bets on the band performing at the Glastonbury festival this summer and superfans are putting money on the band playing as part of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s spring wedding celebrations.
Meanwhile, British bookmakers have slashed the odds of ABBA landing a number one this year – from 20/1 to 5/1.
In an interview published last week, Faltskog said she would consider getting back together with her three former bandmates at least for one-off gigs.
She said, “I could see us doing something together in the future. It is just a feeling I have that it would be fun to get together, talk a bit about the past and maybe perform together.”

Indy 5?!?!?! Noooooooooooooo!!!!

Harrison Ford keen to do new ‘Indiana Jones’ movie
Harrison Ford may have resurrected his most famous lead role for a fourth time in Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull two years ago, but now the actor is hoping to reprise the part once again. Ford told Accesshollywood.com that he would be keen to take up his whip and hat again, as long as he and the franchise’s creators are involved.
“Oh sure, I’d love to do it,” he explained. “If there is something that the three of us [George Lucas and Steven Spielberg] can agree on then I’d love to do it.”
Ford’s Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull co-star Shia LaBeouf recently stated that he believed the filmmakers “dropped the ball” while making the movie.
Ford also talked about his forthcoming blockbuster, Cowboys and Aliens, explaining: “It’s a real cowboy movie, looks like a cowboy movie, feels like a classic cowboy movie, and then things happen, and then it goes back to being a cowboy movie with this added element.”
He added: “I think it’s the kind of film that there’s a real broad audience for. I’m very excited for it. I think it’s going to be good.”

Really?!?!?!?

David Duchovny Says X-Files 3 Being Written
I recently had a conversation with one of my friends about the upcoming Bones spin-off. She asked me if anyone had been cast yet, and when I said no, she offered David Duchovny. Her reasoning: “God stopped making men that talented or handsome a long time ago.” Sadly, I donít really see Duchovny leaving Showtime or Hollywood for a Fox crime-solving show anytime soon, but if the third X-Files ever moves forward, you can certainly count on him being there.
According to TVMag, a third movie may not be as far off as many have speculated. My French is a little suspect, but in the interview, David Duchovny reveals a third installment is being written, and theyíre all pretty much just waiting on a go-ahead from Fox. If it ever does happen, Duchovny says the franchise will shoot a little closer to its roots, with the main plot involving some sort of government conspiracy. Sounds about right.
Itís been almost twenty years since the X-Files first debuted, but still its fan base remains ravenous for more. Unfortunately, with grosses of the second film flatlining at less than seventy million, those clamoring for a third round might be out of luck. Still, with Duchovnyís support and a script that caters to what made the show so awesome, itís hard to think at some point this wonít be given the thumbs up.

Franco linked to ‘Bourne’ role
James Franco has sparked rumours he is in line to take over from Matt Damon as the lead actor in the Bourne franchise after he was spotted with director Tony Gilroy.
Damon, who has played the titled role in three Bourne films, will not appear in the upcoming fourth installment of the popular secret agent movie series, The Bourne Legacy.
Gilroy recently revealed he plans to unveil “a whole new hero” in the blockbuster, but will leave the door open for Damon to return in the future.
He has now fuelled speculation his “new hero” will be Franco after they were seen in talks at a screening of the actor’s new movie 127 Hours in New York on Tuesday night.
A source tells the New York Post that Gilroy “made a beeline for Franco, asking to be introduced to him”.
The Bourne Legacy is due for release in 2012.

Ohhhhhh, Charlize!!!

Charlize Theron May Be Batgirl’s Step-Mother In Batman 3
It sounds like director Christopher Nolan may have decided that his next Batman movie needs more female characters, or rather more than one. On the previous two Batman films the only female character of any note was Rachel Dawes, and she existed mostly to be rescued by Batman. For the sequel, there could be a several new female roles, probably because Batman needs more women to rescue.
Comic Book Movie claims that the script for the third movie includes a character named Detective Sarah Essen, set to serve as a love interest for top cop Jim Gordon, father of Batgirl Barbara Gordon. Word is that Charlize Theron has been approached to play the part. Their source further indicates that a new love interest for Bruce Wayne is being cast, a character named Julie Madison which both Vera Farmiga and Kacie Thomas have auditioned for.
Hereís where this doesnít make sense. When last we left Jim Gordon he was married with a wife and two kids. The Jim Gordon weíve seen on film isnít the playboy type, not the kind of guy to cheat on his wife. So whatís he doing with a love interest? In the comics Sarah Essen is indeed a character he has an affair with and eventually marries (before sheís killed by the Joker), but my hope is that if Sarah Essen really is part of the movie, sheís simply be a fellow detective and not someone Gary Oldman gets to make out with.
The addition of a new love interest for Bruce Wayne, though, makes more sense. His storyline with Rachel Dawes has run its course and Batman isnít the kind of superhero to be tied down. Heís more than ready for someone new in his life. In the comics the character of Julie Madison was originally a socialite who becomes engaged to Bruce Wayne, and is completely unaware of his nighttime activities. The character has actually appeared in a Batman movie before. In Batman & Robin Julie Madison was played by Elle Macpherson.
