Woody Allen Gets Slice of ‘Pie’s’ Biggs
Woody Allen has tapped “American Pie 2” star Jason Biggs to star in his next film. Shooting will begin in the late spring for DreamWorks.
Biggs is the first actor to be cast in Allen’s latest Gotham-based ensemble comedy, and as usual, the contents and title are a closely held secret.
The picture gives the Jersey-born Biggs more time to spend near home. On April 4, he opens in the Dustin Hoffman role in the Broadway stage adaptation of “The Graduate,” which co-stars Kathleen Turner and Alicia Silverstone. The play, which previewed in Boston, Toronto and Baltimore, has brought Biggs back to his roots, as he began his career on Broadway starring with Judd Hirsch in “Conversations With My Father.”
Biggs’ next film release is “Prozac Nation,” the Miramax picture that co-stars Christina Ricci and Jessica Lange. It is scheduled for release in May.
