I can’t say that I necessarily disagree….but I am sure that I don’t really agree.

Beyonce named People’s most beautiful woman

NEW YORK (AP) — People magazine has named Beyonce as the World’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2012.

The 30-year-old singer tops the magazine’s annual list of the “World’s Most Beautiful” in a special double issue. The announcement was made Wednesday.

Commenting on her selection, Beyonce tells People: “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this Earth.”

Beyonce, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, gave birth to a daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in January.

“She’s just the cutest thing,” says the Grammy winner, who sings to her daughter and claims to “love” changing diapers.

Does Blue resemble mom or dad?

“She looks like Blue,” the singer says. “She’s her own person.”

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she adds. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Other celebrities on the list include Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Jessica Pare of “Mad Men.”

Springsteen remembers Clemons in Rolling Stone

NEW YORK (AP) — Bruce Springsteen tells Rolling Stone he shed tears when he heard Clarence Clemons’ saxophone on “Wrecking Ball.”

Clemons died last year. Springsteen intended to have Clemons on the new album, but says he passed on a recording session to check out his health and soon after had a stroke.

Springsteen went to Clemons’ bedside. Clemons squeezed his hand when Springsteen spoke, but Clemons never regained consciousness.

After Clemons died, producer Ron Aniello took a live rendition of the concert staple “Land of Hopes and Dreams,” separated Clemons’ part and put it into a studio version.

Springsteen said: “When the solo section hit, Clarence’s sax filled the room. I cried.” He said losing Clemons was “like losing the rain.”

Jon Stewart interviewed Springsteen for the magazine, out this week.

Jon Stewart Interviews Bruce Springsteen for Rolling Stone

Jon Stewart has interviewed Bruce Springsteen for the cover story in the next issue of Rolling Stone, on newsstands March 16th.

“It’s not at all surreal,” Stewart says with heavy sarcasm, referring to his friendship with the legendary rocker. “It’s very hard to reconcile sitting and fishing in a little pond in New Jersey with a guy that you spent many years hitchhiking the New Jersey I-95 corridor to see in Philadelphia back in the day. The only band I think I’ve seen more than Bruce Springsteen is the Springsteen tribute band Backstreets. I try not to let him know how pathetic I truly am.”

As host of The Daily Show, Stewart has talked to Springsteen publicly, but within the tight confines of brief segments. In this interview, the men get the space to speak at length about Springsteen’s new album, Wrecking Ball, as well as their common ground as popular entertainers with a serious interest in politics.

Over the course of the conversation, Springsteen offers his take on Occupy Wall Street and the negative influence of what he calls the “big-money Wall Street hustle,” explains why his new single “We Take Care of Our Own” is not “jingoistic” and opens up about how he’s coping with the death of E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons. “Losing Clarence was like losing the rain,” Springsteen says. “You’re losing something that has been so elemental in your life for such a long time.”

Jon Stewart’s interview with Bruce Springsteen will be available on newsstands and through Rolling Stone All Access on March 16th, 2012.

Why do I lose this year after year after year?!?!?!

Cooper named ‘Sexiest Man Alive’

Bradley Cooper has stolen Ryan Reynold’s crown as People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.

The Hangover hunk follows in Reynolds’ footsteps after claiming the 2011 title, seeing off competition from fellow honourees including Captain America star Chris Evans and Jennifer Aniston’s screenwriting beau Justin Theroux.

But Cooper remains humble about his looks and admits the best part about being named Sexiest Man Alive is sharing the news with his mom Gloria.

He says, “The first thing I thought was, ‘My mother is going to be so happy.’

“I think it’s really cool that a guy who doesn’t look like a model can have this (title). I think I’m a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying.”

Other stars picked for the annual “hot list” include Ryan Gosling, Alec Baldwin and Idris Elba.

Eddie just needs to be funny again…and I hope he can be!!

Murphy admits ‘SNL’ grudge

NEW YORK – Eddie Murphy explains in a new Rolling Stone interview that he’s kept his distance from “Saturday Night Live” for years because of jokes his former show made about him.

“They were shitty to me on ‘Saturday Night Live’ a couple of times after I’d left the show,” he said. “They said some shitty things.”

Those things included an early 1990s “Weekend Update” jest in which David Spade showed Murphy’s face and said, “Look, children, a falling star.”

“I made a stink about it, it became part of the folklore,” Murphy, star of the new “Tower Heist,” told the magazine. “What really irritated me about it at the time was that it was a career shot … I felt shitty about it for years, but now, I don’t have none of that.”

Though Murphy is one of the biggest names to come out of the show, he’s separated from the casts that have made jokes about him in one way: He joined during the show’s Jean Doumanian era, when she replaced Lorne Michaels as executive producer for ten months from 1980-81, before being replaced by Dick Ebersol. Michaels returned in 1985.

Discovering Murphy — known for such classic “SNL” roles as Gumby, Mr. Robinson, and Buckwheat — is widely considered Doumanian’s greatest contribution to the show.

Sometimes the universe operates as it should!!

Justin Bieber’s ‘Vanity Fair’ cover bombs
Justin Bieber is the hottest thing around, right?
Not so much for Vanity Fair.
Women’s Wear Daily reports that Vanity Fair’s February Bieber cover is on track to become the worst-selling issue for the magazine in 12 years and one of the top three worst sellers for the magazine since Graydon Carter took over as editor in chief in 1992.
The Bieber cover has sold 246,000 copies, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations’ Rapid Report. The ABC Rapid Report data is submitted directly by publishers but has yet to be audited by ABC, so the figure could be slightly adjusted. WWD reports that Bieber wasn’t just bad for Vanity Fair. He didn’t sell well last year for issues of Teen Vogue and People.
Meanwhile in other circulation news, Adweek reports that Vogue is having a great year, so far. One big seller: March’s Lady Gaga issue.

Ford: LaBeouf a ‘f**king idiot’
Harrison Ford has branded his Indiana Jones co-star Shia LaBeouf an “idiot” for publicly slamming the latest film in the franchise.
The pair worked together on 2008’s Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, the follow-up to the adventurer’s third outing in 1989.
The blockbuster was a box office hit, grossing nearly $800 million worldwide, but it received mixed reviews from critics and fans.
And following its release, LaBeouf admitted he was disappointed with the revival, insisting he had “dropped the ball” and let devotees down.
Last year, he said, “I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished… You can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on (director) Steven (Spielberg). But the actor’s job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn’t do it…”
And LaBeouf even claimed Ford agreed with him, adding, “We (Ford and LaBeouf) had major discussions. He wasn’t happy with it either.”
But now Ford has spoken out about the remarks, calling his co-star a “f**king idiot” for turning against the movie.
He tells Details magazine, “I think he was a f**king idiot. As an actor, I think it’s my obligation to support the film without making a complete a** of myself. Shia is ambitious, attentive, and talented – and he’s learning how to deal with a situation which is very unique and difficult.”

Good luck to them!!!

Saskatoon band in finals of Rolling Stone contest
Saskatoon throwback rockers the Sheepdogs have advanced to be one of two finalists in Rolling Stone’s cover competition.
The magazine’s “Do You Wanna Be A Rock & Roll Star” contest began in February with 16 acts, which were whittled down through online voting.
The other finalist is Los Angeles singer/songwriter Lelia Broussard.
The Sheepdogs have been the only Canadian band in the competition and bass player Ryan Gullen said the contest is a huge boost to the ’70s-inspired group.
“The one thing that an indie band can really wish for is to get some attention from really big American media and things like that,” he said. “It’s very hard to get as a Canadian band.”
Both artists will perform at next month’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee as part of the contest, and their performances will be streamed on the magazine’s website.
Drummer Sam Corbett said the band is trying to stay true to its artistic vision.
“That’s one thing about our band, Corbett said. “We make music that emulates the music that we love from the ’60s and ’70s. If we had to change that in any way to try and get a radio hit, it’d be much less satisfying.”
Fans will now vote on the winner, who will become the first unsigned act ever to grace the cover of Rolling Stone, appearing in the Aug. 18 issue. Online voting will run from June 16 to July 1.
The winner also gets a record deal with Atlantic Records.

Other stars to make the top 10 include Jessica Simpson, Katie Holmes and Jennifer Hudson.
To celebrate, Lopez has shared her beauty tips with the publication, revealing looking good is just part of her life in the public eye.
She says, “The thing is, it’s part of my job. I don’t want anybody thinking it’s easy. It does take time and it’s hard work. HDTV wide-screen is nobody’s friend!”

I laughed, and am still laughing!!

Gervais’ Globes joke no ‘insult’
Funnyman Ricky Gervais accepts he may have upset Tim Allen at the Golden Globe Awards with a gag about the actor’s standing in Hollywood.
The Britich comic came under fire for his humour at the ceremony and received an onstage dressing down from Tom Hanks, who took the stage with Allen after Gervais had poked fun at the former sitcom star.
Gervais maintains none of the celebrity targets took offence, but he admits he may have upset Allen.
He tells Rolling Stone, “The thing about that gag is, even though Tim Allen is one of the most successful comedic actors in the world, who would look good against Tom Hanks? That’s all I was saying.
“Tim Allen might have been taken aback by it and, if so, I’m sorry, but I won’t apologize for the joke. The joke is justified. I had no bad intentions.”
In a post on his blog days after he hosted the Globes, Gervais insisted Hanks and Allen weren’t offended by his humour and he was drinking with them after the show.
