Another cult favorite TV comedy could get a second life thanks to the Internet: Amazon is in talks to revive Patrick Warburton’s live-action “The Tick,” which was canceled in 2002.
According to People, the “Rules of Engagement” star has already signed a deal with Amazon and Sony to reprise his role, with creator Ben Edlund, who also created the “Tick” comic book, coming back to write and produce the new version of the show.
While filming on Netfix’s Season 4 of “Arrested Development” began six years after FOX canceled the series, reviving a decade-plus-old production — with original stars and producers attached — is unprecedented.
