Fall Out Boy Is Back To Save The Day
The hiatus is over. Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump, Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman are making noise together once more with a new single, a release date for their first LP in more than four years, and their first tour since 2009.
Fall Out Boy announced its return with the following message:
“When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It’s why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.
“The future of Fall Out Boy starts now.
“Save Rock And Roll…”
Save Rock And Roll is the title of the band’s new album, due out May 6 (May 7 in the U.S.). The date is a significant one for the band. May 6 is the same day Fall Out Boy put out its first full-length release back in 2003 – Take This To Your Grave. Save Rock And Roll is Fall Out Boy’s first LP since 2008’s Folie à Deux. The first single from the new album – “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Out)” – can be purchased through iTunes starting today. Check out the video for the tune at the end of this post.
Before the “Save Rock And Roll Tour” begins in May, the band has booked three intimate club dates this week. These special shows are scheduled tonight (Feb. 4) in the band’s hometown of Chicago at Subterranean, Tuesday (Feb. 5) at New York City’s Webster Hall Studio and Thursday (Feb. 7) in Los Angeles at The Roxy Theatre. Tickets are on sale now.
