I blame myself for SKYFALL finishing second…I just haven’t had time to go and see it again…SORRY!!

‘Breaking Dawn’ box office tops ‘Skyfall’ for third week; ‘Killing Them Softly’ flops

Vampires ruled the box office for the third straight weekend as “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2” scored a narrow victory over James Bond’s “Skyfall” at the weekend box office.

“Twilight’s” estimated $17.4 million topped “Skyfall’s” $17 million. “Lincoln” and “Rise of the Guardians” followed with about $13.5 million each.

The solid weekend for holdover titles helped ease the pain of two lackluster debuts: Brad Pitt’s arty hit man drama “Killing Them Softly” bombed with $7 million (and a rare ‘F’ grade from audiences), while low-budget torture porn horror sequel “The Collection” underwhelmed with just $3.4 million.

Just under the top 10, a trio of award season players saw mixed results. “Silver Linings Playbook” found two silver linings in a considerably smaller weekend-to-weekend decline (24%) and far better per theater average than any movie in the top 10. Keira Knightley’s lavish costume drama “Anna Karenina” added 318 theaters for a total of 384 but grossed a just OK $2.2 million. And Ben Affleck’s “Argo” crossed the $100 million mark in its eighth weekend of release.
