Foo Fighters’ New Album Due April 12
The Foo Fighters have confirmed a release date for their still-untitled seventh album on their official website. The album is due out April 12 in the U.S. on Roswell/RCA.
The band also shared a 38-second instrumental snippet from a new song on its website, after posting a 30-second teaser of new track “Bridge Burning” last month. Like the “Burning” preview, the new piece of music features a slow build, intense electric guitar lick and breakneck drumming.
The Foos announced in early January that they were officially done recording the 11-song album, which was produced by Butch Vig and mixed by Alan Moulder. The follow-up to 2007’s “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace” will also include contributions from frontman Dave Grohl’s old Nirvana bandmate, bassist Krist Novoselic.
Before the band plays the Sasquatch! Festival in George, Wash. on May 27, Foo Fighters will headline the Hangout Music Festival alongside Paul Simon and Widespread Panic in Gulf Shores, Ala. on May 21. The group is also confirmed for a handful of European festivals later this summer.
