‘A Beautiful Mind’ Co-Stars Marry
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Jennifer Connelly, who won an Oscar as the long-suffering wife of a crazy genius in “A Beautiful Mind,” is giving real-life marriage a try with the actor who played a figment of her movie husband’s imagination.
Connelly and British actor Paul Bettany, who portrayed the imaginary college roommate of Russell Crowe’s character in the psychological drama, were married in a small private ceremony in Scotland over the Christmas holidays, her spokeswoman said on Friday.
The couple had been dating since April of last year, she said.
Connelly, 32, won an Academy Award as best supporting actress for her role opposite Crowe as the spouse of the brilliant but schizophrenic mathematician John Nash in “A Beautiful Mind,” which won the Oscar for best picture.
Her big-screen credits also include “The Rocketeer” and “Requiem for a Dream.” Connelly will next be seen in the upcoming comic book adventure “The Hulk.”
Bettany is slated to co-star with Crowe again in the upcoming period drama “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.” And he’s a bastard for stealing my woman!
