Madonna Working On New Set
Madonna’s as-yet-untitled next studio album is scheduled for release in April. The music video for the set’s first single will be shot in February and it will be directed by Jonas Ackerlund, according to the singer’s website.
In related news, Madonna is currently nominated for a Golden Globe for best original song for her title theme for the latest James Bond film, Die Another Day. Madonna has been nominated for best original song seven times since 1987, and she’s only won once–in 1996 for “You Must Love Me” from the musical movie Evita.
Other Golden Globes nominations for best original song in a film are: U2 for ‘The Hands That Built America,” which featured on the soundtrack to the new Martin Scorsese film, Gangs Of New York; Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” from 8 Mile, which is currently Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 for a tenth consecutive week; Paul Simon’s “Father And Daughter” from The Wild Thornberrys Movie, based on the Nickelodeon TV cartoon series; and Hans Zimmer’s “Here I Am” from the animated feature Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron, performed by Bryan Adams, who co-wrote the lyrics with songwriter Gretchen Peters.
The Golden Globes will be awarded at a star-studded event that will air January 19 on NBC.
