AIRWAVES HIGH ON NICKELBACK
THE most popular radio tunes of 2002 are in – and megastars Eminem, J.Lo and Justin Timberlake didn’t make the list.
Nor did the much-hyped neo-garage acts the White Stripes, the Hives and the Vines.
Instead, songs by Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd and Linkin Park dominated the airwaves this past year, according to Nielsen Broadcast Data System, which tracks radio airplay.
Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me” was the most-played song of all, with 421,770 spins. Here’s the rest of the top 10:
2) Puddle of Mudd, “Blurry”
3) Linkin Park, “In the End”
4) Jimmy Eat World, “The Middle”
5) The Calling, “Wherever You Will Go”
6) Vanessa Carlton, “A Thousand Miles”
7) Avril Lavigne, “Complicated”
8) Ashanti, “Foolish”
9) Nelly, “Dilemma”
10) Nelly, “Hot in Herre”
