Dude, you’re getting a pink slip!

Dell Dude Takes a Break
NEW YORK – The Dell dude is taking a vacation.
The computer company says the irascible Steven, played by actor Ben Curtis, is taking a rest after two years, during which time consumers have seen him pitch computers playing a high-school student and then as a college student, often exclaiming to colleagues, “Dude, you’re getting a Dell.” The pitchman has even been spoofed on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
Dell says it’s trying something else with a new ad campaign. Recent ads have featured “Dell interns,” who walk among various Dell workers, irritating them with computer geek questions.
Steven still appears at the end of at least one of the new commercials. A company spokesman says it’s not necessarily the end of the blond-haired pitchman.
