Does this make him “Cat Bastard”?

Myers plays another retro but cool cat
Mike Myers looks perfectly content under all that fur and makeup in an exclusive first look from Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat, due in November 2003.

Myers, who stars as the mischievous feline, tells USA TODAY that he was always a fan of the 1957 classic. But it was the modern-day take on the book that persuaded him to take the part.
“Not only is The Cat in the Hat my favorite children’s book, it’s one of the best scripts I’ve read in years,” he says. “It’s a huge honor to be part of a brilliant cast and a team of filmmakers dedicated to making a children’s classic.”
Cat marks the directing debut of Bo Welch and is produced by Brian Grazer, who was behind another Seuss tale, 2000’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. That movie raked in $260 million.
“The Grinch really opened the door for us,” says Nikki Rocco, distribution chief for Universal Studios, which is releasing the film. “It showed how well a Seuss book translates to film.”
Cat also stars Alec Baldwin, Spencer Breslin (Disney’s The Kid) and Dakota Fanning รณ fresh off I Am Sam, a drama that played off Seuss’ Sam I Am.
