Lionel Hampton got a jazzed-up sendoff Saturday in New York. Former President George Bush eulogized the late “King of the Vibes,” and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis led the funeral procession through Harlem to the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, where Hampton was interred with fellow music masters Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Coleman Hawkins and Irving Berlin. Hampton died last weekend of heart failure at age 94.
