What new movies are coming out this weekend, Dan?

Well, there are a slew of new films that will bow on Friday, April 5th. I’ll offer my full and patented thoughts on Friday, but for now, here’s a preview!

NATIONAL LAMPOON’S VAN WILDER [Artisan – R]
Starring Ryan Reynolds, Tara Reid, Tim Matheson, Tom Everett Scott, Daniel Cosgrove, Emily Rutherfurd, Aaron Paul.
Directed by Walt Becker.
WHAT: A campus legend must find a way to get by after his father refuses to pay any more of his tuition bills.

BIG TROUBLE [Disney – PG-13]
Starring Tim Allen, Rene Russo, Stanley Tucci, Janeane Garofalo, Dennis Farina, Johnny Knoxville, Omar Epps, Patrick Warburton, Tom Sizemore, Zooey Deschanel, Ben Foster, Heavy D, Jason Lee, Andy Richter, D J Qualls.

WHAT: An adaptation of humorist Dave Barry’s novel about a mysterious suitcase which brings together an eclectic group of characters.

HIGH CRIMES [Fox – PG-13]

WHAT: A successful lawyer is shocked to discover her husband has a hidden past as a classified military operative, and is accused of committing a heinous war crime.

Directed by Peter Cattaneo.
WHAT: A prison inmate stages a musical play as a cover for his escape.

AMADEUS [WB – Limited]
Starring Tom Hulce, F. Murray Abraham, Elizabeth Berridge, Jeffrey Jones, Karl-Heinz Teuber.
Directed by Milos Forman.
WHAT: A re-release of Forman’s biopic on the famed composer.
