O’Donnell is speaking out about being gay–and being a gay parent–in her much-talked-about interview with Diane Sawyer, airing this evening on ABC’s Primetime Thursday. “I don’t think America knows what a gay parent looks like,” she said. O’Donnell says she realized she was gay when she was 18 years old.
