Hey Dan, What’s New In Theatres This Weekend?

Well, if you are in the mood for a film this weekend you are in luck! There is a slew of new films opening up!

Michelle Pfeiffer and Sean Penn star in the “Oscar Craving” production I Am Sam, which is surprisingly NOT based on the work of one Dr. Suess.

Featuring a great cast, that includes “Memento” lead Guy Pierce, Disney remakes and releases The Count Of Monte Cristo, a film which is ripe for a parody; and if parody is in your mind this weekend, then see Kung Pow: Enter The Fist. Sure it’s dumb! Sure, it’s really stupid! But what else would you expect from the writer and director of “Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls”?!?

How about a date movie, Dan? Well, if you are calling a lady- friend to see a movie, then this weekend gives you the surprisingly entertaining A Walk To Remember. She will love it, and you for going. And honestly, and quite surprisingly, it really isn’t that bad.

Bad had better not be the word I use after I see The Mothman Prophecies. This pseudo horror film looks good, and stars Laura Linney and Richard Gere, but I am a bit worried that it comes from the director of “Arlington Road,” which I thought was horrible. Here’s hoping the “phecies” part of “The Mothman Prophecies” is not all that we remember!

And that’s new in theatres this weekend! Enjoy the popcorn!
