U2 scoring a field-best eight Grammy noms Friday, including Album, Song and Record of the Year. India.Arie was close behind with seven nods, including Album, Song and Record of the Year and Best New Artist. Alicia Keys notched six nominations and OutKast had five. The 44th Annual Grammys will be shown live on CBS on February 27.

FYI- By the way, India.Arie is this year’s Macy Gray. At this time next year she will be a footnote.

Speaking Sunday before a hip-hop concert he was to host, O.J. Simpson said hip-hop and specifically the music of slain rapper Tupac Shakur helped him deal with life after his murder trial. Unfortunately for Simpson, the concert was canceled early Monday when only 100 people showed up.
