Talk magazine will be shutting down after it’s February issue.
Don’t blame me, just because I never read an issue. Oh, wait, maybe you should blame me!
Your prayers have been answered! David Duchovny will return for The X- Files season finale.
Well, new this weekend in theatres is Ridley Scott’s “Black Hawk Down” and Cuba Gooding, Jr. leads a team of “Snow Dogs.” Personally, I am finally going to get a chance to see the luscious Jennifer Connelly, and some guy named Russell Crowe, in “A Beautiful Mind.”
Yes, could I get a large popcorn and a medium Dr. Pepper please…
Director Ridley Scott is working on the ultimate “Blade Runner” DVD.
Ridley, here’s a request: Put both versions of your movie, with and without narration, on the DVD.
Does the new TRON DVD hold the key to the sequel?
You’ll have to answer it on your own.
SUNDANCE FEVER
More films are getting picked up at the Sundance Film Festival, with Fox Searchlight paying $2.5 million for rights to John Malkovich’s feature directorial debut, The Dancer Upstairs. Fine Line Features scored North American rights to the thriller Cherish and ThinkFilm paid more than $1 million for the rights to Gus Van Sant’s Gerry, starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.
HE’S NOW A FEATURE FELINE
Lasagna-munching fat cat Garfield is getting the CGI treatment as 20th Century Fox is teaming up with creator Jim Davis for a feature based on the popular comic strip. The film will be live action with a computer-generated Garfield.
No word yet on whether Odie will appear or not.
THE TRUTH HURTS
Fox’s The X-Files will be ending its run after nine seasons, series creator Chris Carter told reporters Wednesday. “It’s the ninth inning. We want to go out on top,” Carter told Variety. “We wanted to go out as a strong show.” The series finale will air in May.
What I don’t understand is why Carter things that they are “going out on top.” The X- Files hasn’t been on top since before we knew what “Whitewater” was.
