The 2002 Sundance Film Festival is kicking off today, after getting bumped up to make way for the Winter Olympics. On Sunday, actor Benicio Del Toro will pick up the Piper-Heidsieck Tribute to Independent Vision Award at the festival.

Tonight, it’s the ANNUAL AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS.
Essentially a popularity contest combined with album sales tallies, The “AMA”‘s boasts the usual suspects on its roster of performers and presenters. Britney Spears, Usher, Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz and Cher will be doing their musical shtick onstage while Alicia Keys, *NSync, Ja Rule, Reba McEntire, Ludacris and India.Arie hand out trophies to the winners.
The perpetually over-caffeinated, and hot, hot, hot! Jenny McCarthy hosts. Oh, and Puff Dippy, P. Diddy, P. Uddy, whatever his name is now is the co-host.
It doesn’t open until May 16, 2002, but two guys in Seattle are already in line to see Star Wars: Episode II- Attack Of The Clones.
