Lindsay Lohan uninjured in car crash
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Lindsay Lohan wasn't injured after her car was hit by a photographer who allegedly was following the Mean Girls actress.
Galo Ramirez, 24, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after running into Lohan's car Tuesday, police said.
Ramirez was released on $35,000 US bail, a watch commander at the Los Angeles police department's Wilshire station said Wednesday.
"I thank God my daughter was able to walk out of the car," Lohan's mother, Dina, said in a statement released by a publicist for the 18-year-old actress.
Lohan's new film, Herbie: Fully Loaded, will be in theatres June 22.
Terry Fox inspires a second movie
Terry, a new television movie, will tell the story of one-legged runner Terry Fox.
The film begins production on Sunday and will feature Shawn Ashmore in the title role. It will air on CTV in the fall.
Fox was the one-legged runner who tried to cross Canada in 1980 in an attempt to raise funds for cancer research.
He has already been the subject of one movie, the 1983 HBO production The Terry Fox Story.
The new film is based on the journals Fox kept during his Marathon of Hope, as well as interviews with family members and friends.
"Terry Fox was a hero of epic proportions and this dynamic retelling of his story is sure to inspire audiences of all ages," said Susanne Boyce, a CTV executive.
Fox's attempt to run across Canada was cut short when the cancer that robbed him of his right leg returned. He died the next year.
Redmond, B.C.-born Ashmore is best known for playing Bobby Drake, a mutant known as Iceman who has the ability to shoot waves of cold from his fingertips, in the X-Men series of films.
The Terry Fox Story starred Eric Fryer as Fox, with supporting turns by Chris Makepeace and Robert Duvall. Some critics took the makers of that film to task for depicting the amputee as having a harsh temper.
However, one of the producers on the new film says Fox was like an angel.
"I found Terry to be a regular guy with a great sense of humour, a kind heart and unrelenting determination," Gail Harvey, who also covered the Marathon of Hope as a photojournalist, told the Canadian Press.
"Of all the famous people I've met in my life, Terry Fox affected me the most," she added.
There has been a resurgence of interest in Fox in recent months. This year marks the 25th anniversary of his run, and author Douglas Coupland put out a photo album to commemorate his life.
Fox's legacy is kept alive by the people who participate in the annual run named after him.
You probably think this story's about...
For more than 30 years, one of America's best-kept secrets has remained a pop culture mystery. No, not Deep Throat. We're talking about Carly Simon and her hit song You're So Vain. Who was she singing about?
"It's about Mark Felt!" Simon, 59, joked by phone Wednesday from her home in Martha's Vineyard, referring to the former FBI official who has said he was Deep Throat.
Vain was a No. 1 hit in January 1973, six months after the Watergate break-in that led to President Nixon's downfall.
But unlike the Watergate principals, Simon says she'll never reveal the answer, not even when she or the song's subject dies. "I don't see why I ever would. What would it advance?
"I wrote that song in the days when people kept confidences to themselves, whereas now, people expose them so easily and readily for the benefit of their next movie sale."
Officially, only three people know: Simon, the ex-lover and NBC Sports president Dick Ebersol, who paid $50,000 for the answer at a charity auction. (He was sworn to secrecy.)
Over the years, Simon has dropped a few hints: The man's name contains the letters A, E, and R, suggesting Warren Beatty and Mick Jagger, who sings background vocals on the track. But she won't confirm that the song is about one partner or a compilation of men.
"It's almost beside the point whether or not we find out who she was writing about because it's a really good song," says Thom Geier, Entertainment Weekly senior editor.
Some things are best left unanswered, says Paul Aron, author of Unsolved Mysteries of American History. "What would we all write about if these things could be answered?
Simon has long since moved on. She's been married since 1987 to writer James Hart. She conquered breast cancer. Her new standards album, Moonlight Serenade, is out July 19.
She finds it "bizarre" that fans are still speculating about her lyrics three decades later. "If people knew who it was to begin with, it might not have become a hit."

More Bloodshed Ahead with 'Rambo IV'
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - It's been nearly 20 years, and an older, but no less volatile John Rambo is returning to the big screen.
Nu Image/Millennium Films has acquired the rights to Dimension Films' "Rambo IV," the third sequel to the popular 1982 film starring Sylvester Stallone as an unstable Vietnam War vet who can't seem to live a peaceful, ammo-free existence.
The latest installment centers on Rambo's having "assimilated into the tapestry of America," living with his wife and 10-year-old daughter. Still working for the military, he gets pressured by work to relocate to the American outback where he gets in touch with his Navajo roots and is targeted by white supremacists.
Once again, the former Green Beret is forced by others to take up the gun when his daughter is taken hostage. Stallone will reportedly co-star with a younger actor for the film.
Production is scheduled to begin in January 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria and will move on to locations in India and the United States.
In a statement, Nu Image/Millennium Films chairman Avi Lerner says: "It's a franchise. If No. 4 works, then you have a No. 5." He also referred to Stallone as "one of the smartest guys I know."
Stallone, 58, has been nominated for his acting and orginal screenplay for 1976's "Rocky," which also spawned a successful franchise. His most recent credits include "Shade" and "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over." He also hosted the Mark Burnett reality boxing show "The Contender" on NBC.
DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT THEM
The cast of classic '80s movie, The Breakfast Club, planning to reunite at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, airing on June 9. Everyone's confirmed except for former Brat Packer Emilio Estevez.
