It was 10 years ago today that Johnny Carson walked away.
Even in retirement, Johnny still casts a long shadow.
Good Luck!
Island Records is giving away a trip for two to see Elvis Costello in Europe this summer. Fans can enter the contest via Doll Revolution, a site named after the song "Tear Off Your Own Head (It's a Doll Revolution)," the first single from Costello's latest album, "When I Was Cruel."
The grand prize winner and a guest will be flown to Europe and will enjoy deluxe accommodations and tickets to see Costello perform on a yet-to-be-determined date. A quintet of second prize winners will each win an electric guitar signed by the artist. Deadline for entry via the site is June 30.
Costello is in the midst of a North American tour, which tonight (May 21) touches down at the Historic Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Calif. He'll be on the road stateside through a June 24 show in Atlanta, which will be followed by a six-date Japanese tour, and a quick visit to Australia.
So far, a July 22 gig in Liverpool, England, is Costello's only confirmed European date. He's expected back in the U.S. on Aug. 30 to perform a free concert as part of NBC's "Today" concert series in New York's Rockefeller Center.
Ferrell Gets Some 'Action'
This just in: Will Ferrell, in his first deal since announcing his departure from "Saturday Night Live," will star in the romantic comedy "Action Newsman."
He will portray Ron Burgundy, a 1970s anchorman with raging hormones, perfect hair and inflated ego in the vein of Austin Powers. He's the most beloved teleprompter reader in Portland until he's threatened by the arrival of an ambitious female newscaster who, unlike Burgundy, has mastered journalism.
Ferrell co-wrote "Action Newsman" with "SNL" writer Adam McKay, who will direct the project for Fox-based Regency.

This Story Will Make You Think A Bit. Are You ready?
So far this year we have been enjoying films that aren't grounded in reality. Call it a "comic book Summer," if you will.
But all that will change in a few weeks when "The Sum Of All Fears" hits theatres.
With new warnings rekindling public jitters, moviegoers may not be up to watching a disturbingly realistic portrayal of a terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Is it too soon?
Cool!
Blink-182 will be the guest stars on the 300th episode of "The Simpsons."
