Victoria Beckham Says Her Microphone Was Intentionally Turned Off During Spice Girls Shows

Victoria Beckham reveals she’s lip-synched during her Spice Girls days, but it wasn’t her fault!

“They used to turn it off and just let the others sing,” the singer-turned-fashion designer told The Telegraphwhen she attended the Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Thursday.

“I got the last laugh – and now my mic is well and truly on, finally,” Beckham, 42, jokingly added.

The mother of four also revealed that her passion was always in fashion, she did make the little Gucci dress famous after all. Remember in Spice World when Mel C tells Posh Spice: “I bet it must be really hard for you Victoria, you know, trying to decide whether to wear the little Gucci dress, the little Gucci dress or the little Gucci dress.”

Alex Anthopoulos returns to Toronto with Dodgers

Alex Anthopoulos has few regrets from his time with the Toronto Blue Jays, but he can’t deny thinking about his old team.

The former Blue Jays general manager spoke with media on Friday night, ahead of Toronto’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Anthopoulos, who was born in Montreal, joined the Dodgers organization after he declined a contract extension from incoming Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro.

“Anyone that says they don’t look back is lying,” said Anthopoulos, who still lives in Toronto with his family. “In these jobs you look back all the time, you’re evaluating all the time.”

Anthopoulos was the driving force behind Toronto’s playoff push last season. He acquired third baseman Josh Donaldson from the Oakland Athletics in the winter of 2014, then made a flurry of trades ahead of the 2015 trade deadline to acquire shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and ace pitcher David Price amongst others, catapulting the Blue Jays to an American League East division title and the team’s first post-season appearance since the 1993 World Series.

Despite that success, Anthopoulos and the Blue Jays parted company when he turned down a five-year contract extension from the team. He became L.A.’s vice-president of baseball operations on Jan. 12.

The only trade Anthopoulos regrets is one he didn’t make: bringing in utility fielder Ben Zobrist from Oakland, who instead went to the Kansas City Royals, the team that eliminated the Blue Jays from the American League Championship Series.

“As time has gone on, I guess it’s been a few months, I look back and what if we had gotten Ben Zobrist?” said Anthopoulos. “Kansas City, they don’t have him. It may have influenced some other deals, we may not have had some of the players to make some of the other deals.

“That’s probably the one I’ve thought about the most. What if we had done it, you know? We get to Game 7 in Kansas City, who the heck knows what happens?”

Zobrist hit .320 with two home runs and four RBIs in the ALCS against Toronto, before helping the Royals win the World Series.

Despite his sudden departure from Toronto, Anthopoulos has no ill will toward Shapiro or anyone else in the Blue Jays organization. When told by a reporter that the current administration has never mentioned him by name since leaving for Los Angeles, Anthopoulos laughed.

“My relationship with Mark has always been good,” said Anthopoulos, who sat at the podium in the bowels of the Rogers Centre where he often sat to announce trades. The difference now was a black curtain behind him, covering the Blue Jays backdrop. “Not that there’s a pre-existing relationship, other than the time we spent together in the organization, he treated me great.

“Really great conversation with him over the course of (negotiations). He was great, he was honest the whole way, treated me with respect. You could say the same of the ownership group.”

Anthopoulos’s exit came as a surprise to many fans, with the former Jays GM admitting that he saw himself in Toronto for the foreseeable future.

“I would say through to the end of the month of August I expected to be here for five, 10, 20 years, whatever it was going to be,” said Anthopoulos. “And then things rolled into September and it was probably the first time it entered into my mind that I might not be back.

“But certainly the decision wasn’t done until later.”

Alden Ehrenreich Cast as Han Solo in ‘Star Wars’ Spinoff

“Hail, Caesar!” star Alden Ehrenreich is finalizing a deal to play young Han Solo in a “Star Wars” spinoff that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will direct for Lucasfilm, multiple individuals familiar with the top-secret casting process have told TheWrap over the past week.

Ehrenreich inherits the star-making role from Harrison Ford, who first played the space hero in George Lucas original “Star Wars.”

Lord and Miller, the filmmakers behind “The Lego Movie,” are directing from a script by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan. Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy is producing the blockbuster, which will be executive produced by the elder Kasdan and Jason McGatlin.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, though it won’t quite be a typical origin story. Instead, the film is expected to follow Solo before he links up with the rebel alliance. Chewbacca will play a key role, and it’s entirely possible that young Han could cross paths with the bounty hunter known as Boba Fett.

Disney declined to comment. The studio will release the “Han Solo” movie on May 25, 2018.

There has been rampant speculation that Ehrenreich could make his first appearance as Han Solo in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which Disney releases in December. While that cameo has yet to be confirmed, numerous Hollywood insiders tell TheWrap that Ehrenreich has landed the coveted role, for which he beat out thousands of actors — both established and unknown.

Ehrenreich certainly has big shoes to fill, but two of Hollywood’s most revered directors already think he has the stuff to be a leading man.

The 26-year-old actor was discovered at a friend’s bat mitzvah reception by none other than Steven Spielberg, who recognized star qualities in the young man. Ehrenreich quickly landed a lead role opposite Vincent Gallo in Francis Ford Coppola‘s 2009 drama “Tetro,” and he later reunited with the “Godfather” director on 2011’s “Twixt.”

Since then, Ehrenreich has worked with acclaimed filmmakers such as Woody Allen (“Blue Jasmine”), Park Chan-wook (“Stoker”), Richard LaGravenese (“Beautiful Creatures”) and the Coen brothers, who cast Ehrenreich as a major scene-stealer in their showbiz comedy “Hail, Caesar!”

Ehrenreich also stars in Warren Beatty‘s upcoming movie about Howard Hughes and recently wrapped Alexandre Moors’ war drama “The Yellow Birds,” which is expected to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival this fall. He’s represented by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
