Rolling Stones Announcement Soon?
Reports of billboards displaying classic Rolling Stones imagery placed along roadsides in several markets just might mean the band is close to announcing its 2015 tour.
Once again all eyes are on SongMango.com, the website dedicated to rock ’n’ roll that reported last week that The Rolling Stones might announce tour dates at any moment. Although almost a full week has gone by since SongMango.com started raising the hopes of Stones fans from sea to shining sea, no tour has yet been revealed. However, that may change soon.
Turns out billboards carrying the band’s signature graphics, including the famous tongue, have popped up in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Orlando, Minneapolis, Columbus, Rochester, Kansas City, Dayton, Dallas and Milwaukee. What’s more, some billboards tease that something will happen on Wednesday while others proclaim that Thursday is the day.
Meanwhile, The Rolling Stones Twitter feed is pumping #Satisfaction Thursday.
But not all news, albeit, even rumors and gossip, is good. Without citing a source, SoundMango.com says previous plans for shows at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl and Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre may not happen. While L.A. may be losing a Bowl gig, the article goes on to say that “there will be at least one tour stop, and probably two promotional-type shows somewhere in the city.”
SongMango.com also gave more information about last week’s report that The Rolling Stones would perform its classic Sticky Fingers album in its entirety. Now the website is saying that the band will play the LP “at two to-be-determined ‘very special’ smaller shows.”
The website also posted what it believes to be the schedule for the Stones, showing a May through July outing that includes San Diego, Nashville, Raleigh and other markets.
