B.B. King cancels remaining tour dates due to illness
B.B. King has canceled the rest of his tour after becoming ill during a recent performance. According to a statement on King’s website, the 89-year-old blues musician became ill during an Oct. 3 performance at the House of Blues in Chicago. King was subsequently evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion. King had eight shows left on his current tour.
Back in April, King, who suffers from diabetes, apologized for a rocky performance in St. Louis. “The combination of the rigors of the very long drive and high blood sugar due to his medication error resulted in a performance that did not match Mr. King’s usual standard of excellence,” a statement read.
