Congrats to them all!!

Beyoncé tops MTV VMA nominations

After a surprise “visual” album release in December, Beyoncé’s getting her due respect with the most nominations for August’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The superstar singer, currently on a splashy tour with hubby Jay Z, garnered eight nods, including for video of the year for “Drunk in Love.” Bey’s other nominations included best female video for “Partition” and best video with a social message for “Pretty Hurts.”

Eminem and Iggy Azalea tied for the second most nods at seven each. Azalea’s collaborations with Charli XCX (“Fancy”) and Ariana Grande (“Problem”) each received multiple nominations. Eminem was noticed both for his solo work for “Berzerk” and “Rap God” and for his team-up with Rihanna for “The Monster.”

Battling out for the most coveted award of the night — video of the year — will be the aforementioned Beyoncé and Jay Z for “Drunk in Love,” Azalea and Charli XCX for “Fancy,” Pharrell for “Happy,” Sia for “Chandelier” and Miley Cyrus for “Wrecking Ball.”

Other nominees with multiple mentions include Katy Perry, Grande, Lorde, Sam Smith, Zedd, Avicii, Pitbull, Jason Derulo and Hayley Williams.

After announcing nominations last year on Vine, MTV revealed this year’s accolades via Snapchat with the help of up-and-comers such as Austin Mahone, Becky G and Fifth Harmony.

The MTV VMAs will air live from the Forum in Inglewood, California, on Aug. 24 at 9 p.m. So far, Grande, Usher and 5 Seconds of Summer are confirmed to perform, with many more to come.
