Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’ to be re-released for 20th anniversary

Nirvana’s 1993 album ‘In Utero’ will be re-released to mark its 20th anniversary on September 23.

A remastered version of the band’s third and final studio album will feature 70 tracks including previously unreleased recordings and demos, B-sides and compilation tracks and live material featuring the band’s final touring line-up of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. It will also include the Live And Loud show from Seattle’s Pier 48 on December 13, 1993. A separate DVD release of that show will also be released on September 23.

The follow-up to 1991’s seminal ‘Nevermind’, ‘In Utero’ was produced by Steve Albini over two weeks at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

Katy Perry Puts New Album Details on the Street

Katy Perry opted for an untraditional means of announcing her upcoming fourth studio album: she emblazoned the title and release date – Prism, due out October 22nd – on the side of a gold tractor-trailer that rolled through the streets of L.A. yesterday.

“Don’t worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map,” she teased on Twitter and encouraged fans to keep an eye out for the shiny semi. “Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I’ll RT you.”

Prism will be Perry’s follow-up to 2010’s Teenage Dream, and she’s been working on the album with producers Max Martin, Greg Wells and Dr. Luke as well as others.

Perry is the most recent artist opting to make new album details more of a creative declaration than an announcement. Lady Gaga revealed the title of her upcoming ARTPOP by tweeting a picture of the word tattooed on her arm, while Kanye West debuted the video for “New Slaves” using visual projections on 66 buildings around the world.
