Adele taking 4-or-5-year break
Adele has decided it’s time for a break.
The 23–year-old singer, who won six Grammy awards Sunday for her chart-dominating album “21”, tells Vogue magazine she wants to take some time away from her grueling work schedule to spend more time with her boyfriend.
“I am f—ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.”
She also tells the magazine the extended vacation should help her write happier songs.
“At least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”
The much-needed break would give her voice a rest too. Her performance at the Grammys was her first since having surgery on a hemorrhaged vocal chord back in November.
Adele’s “21” has been a mainstay on music charts since its release in early 2011. The disc has reached the number one spot in over 26 countries, including Canada, where it has sold over one million copies.
