Paul McCartney Reissuing Wings’ ‘Band on the Run’
Paul McCartney is reissuing the 1973 album “Band on the Run” — the best-selling record he made with Wings after his acrimonious split with The Beatles.
McCartney’s website said on Thursday the Grammy-winning album, which yielded hits like “Jet”, would be re-released in November in several remastered configurations.
A four-disc collector’s edition will include a new interview with McCartney along with a 120-page book of photos by McCartney’s late wife Linda, and an audio documentary.
McCartney formed Wings, along with Linda McCartney on keyboards and ex-Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine, in 1971 and the band made nine albums before splitting up in 1981.
“Band on the Run” went on to sell more than seven million copies and top the U.S. album charts three separate times.
Thursday’s statement said that the November reissue was the first release from Paul McCartney’s archive collection that encompasses 40 years of material.
“Band on the Run” will be released on November1 in Britain and November 2 in the United States.
