‘Lost’ auction sparks bidding war
The props from cult desert island drama Lost are set to prompt an international bidding war when they go under the hammer at an auction in California this weekend.
Profiles in History boss Joe Maddalena is offering thousands of memorabilia items from the TV show, which came to a close after six seasons in May, and he reveals he already has fans from 32 countries pre-bidding on things like Hurley’s camper van and John Locke’s knife.
The items, which also include plane wreckage and seats, Virgin Mary statues and a pilot script signed by Lost creators Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams, are all being housed in an airport hangar in Santa Monica, where the auction will take place.
Maddalena tells USA Today that many items have come straight from the set and have not been touched: “You can still see the studio blood.”
